The goal of the XAT GD and PI is to evaluate the candidates’ soft skills, including leadership, teamwork, listening, interpersonal behaviour, etc. The XAT PI will evaluate candidates’ confidence, communication abilities, etc. Nothing from the XAT Syllabus is required for the GD-PI, but generally speaking, applicants should be knowledgeable about a variety of subjects, including static GK, current affairs, politics, government policies, national and international issues, etc.

XAT Verbal and Logical Ability Pattern

The Verbal and Logical Ability section of the XAT 2023 consists of 26 objective-type questions. The Verbal & Logical Ability section of the XAT test consists of 35-minute-long questions on grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, and critical reasoning. There are four reading comprehension problems totaling 14–16 in number. The verbal ability section consists of 8–10 questions. Between moderate and challenging is the degree of difficulty.

XAT Decision-Making Pattern

Given that it is one of the most significant topics on the XAT exam schedule, candidates should perform reasonably well in decision-making to be admitted to XLRI. It is anticipated that decision-making will result in a total of 21 questions, broken down into 7 to 8 sets, each with 2 to 3 questions. The usual difficulty range for this section is between moderate and severe.

XAT Quantitative Aptitude and Data Interpretation Pattern

The Quant and DI segment of the XAT exam will contain a total of 28 questions, according to the current exam schedule. There will be questions for both individuals and groups. There will be 3 to 4 questions in the paper for each set. Candidates should expect a level of difficulty that ranges from moderate to demanding. The most questions are likely to be asked about topics like numbers, geometry, and mensuration, then arithmetic, Venn diagrams, and functions.

XAT General Knowledge Pattern

Since the subject’s scope is so wide, GK cannot be specifically defined in any admission exam. Everything under the sun is covered in the XAT general awareness paper design. In addition to the essay writing element, the GK portion of the XAT Exam consists of 25 questions that must be answered in 25 minutes. One key feature of this section is the absence of consideration for marks earned when determining XAT scores.

XAT Essay Writing

The XAT Essay Writing section was reinstated in 2023 following a three-year break. In 2019, XLRI did away with the essay component.

This year, the XAT essay writing portion and the GK section were integrated in part 2 of the paper. 25 minutes will be allotted for the GK component and a brief essay of no more than 250 words.
The subjects could be timely, deal with social and economic issues, or be ponderous and esoteric. The XAT essay topics from the preceding 15 years are listed below:
